Since mining of Pit 3 ended in November 2012, Ranger has been processing ore from stockpiles. The ore comes from both Pit 1 which was depleted in 1994 and Pit 3. The process for extracting uranium ore from the mine to producing drums of uranium oxide involves a number of complex operations, including extraction, sorting, crushing, and production.
